As I write this I am acutely sleep deprived. Over the past forty-eight hours I have drank several bottles of wine and whisky, which I have balanced out by consuming approximately fifteen cups of coffee. And I feel indefatigably splendiferous - that means amazing.
Two days of non-stop partying to celebrate one of my best friends tying the knot. I have played ‘These Words’ by Natasha Beddingfield over fifty times since I rediscovered it Thursday night, walked around Bristol city centre at four in the afternoon with a white fur draped over my shoulders, and gone out to the club in a three-piece suit with a white rose in my lapel.
I am not sure what that is all to say, other than life is weird and wonderful. But also, as much as I preach puritanical, disciplined and dialled in living, you have to allow the sinuous nature of life to take you for a ride every now and then.
The unwritten caveat to every rule of health and good practice, is that it is not only ok to break the rule every now and then, it is essential - so do so. And then return right back to the puritanical path, ready for the start gun that is Monday morning.
I hope you had a great weekend, and have a blessed week.
