Hello All. I hope everyone has had a great week. January can feel like no man’s land sometimes as we navigate our way into the flow of the new year, so I hope all is going swimmingly and if it is not, I hope you are still finding a way to sail through the storm.
This week’s Weekly 500 is very short and sweet. Here is one physical health tip, one mental health tip, and one spiritual health tip for the week ahead….
Physical: Expose yourself to Winter.
A lot of the physical benefits we would gain from the Sun in hotter climates, we gain from the cold instead during Winter. However, due to the comfort of modern living, we do not really gain these benefits anymore, as we are actually rarely exposed to the cold. You do not have to be jumping in the cold plunge every morning (although that would be fantastic) but make sure you expose yourself to the cold as much as possible. Get out on walks, drive with the windows down, turn off your central heating - whatever it takes!
Mental: Will it matter in a year?
Whenever something stresses you out, just ask yourself: “will it matter in a year?”. If the answer is no, then do not waste a second more stressing about it. Action what you need to, and continue on. This way you eliminate 99% of stressors from your day-to-day life.
Spiritual: Put your feet on the ground and look up.
First thing in the morning, before you get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, get outside, put your bare feet on the grass, and look up into the sky. Spend 5 minutes connecting with the natural world you exist in - nothing on the agenda, nowhere to go. There is no better way to attain tranquility and awareness, before you go about your daily business.
